چکیده
In this study, we investigate the global ionospheric impact of high-speed solar wind streams/corotating interaction regions (HSS/CIR). A series ten such events are identified between December 1st 2007 and April 29th 2008, characterized in frequency domain by main spectral peaks corresponding to 27, 13.5, 9 6.75 days. The spectra magnetic field, speed proton density, as well those geomagnetic indices AE SYM-H solely dominated these features. By contrast, NmF2 a lesser extent hmF2 have much more complex structure, with secondary adding or replacing ones. We argue that is evidence nonlinear nature magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling, highlighted particularly response. Additionally, show closely correlated than all parameters describing activity. Finally, response shows higher correlation Bz any other parameter, AE, indicating for low-frequency part spectrum, high-latitude Joule heating particle precipitation play role prompt penetration electric fields dictating activity, case sequence HSS/CIR events.

Dayside ionospheric response to recurrent geomagnetic activity during the extreme solar minimum of 2008
[1] Global observations of electron density profiles from the COSMIC satellites are used to investigate, for the first time, the altitudinal dependence of the ionospheric response to the recurrent geomagnetic activity at different latitudinal regions during the extreme solar minimum period of 2008. Our results show that the 9-day oscillations in NmF2 are out of phase with those in Kp at high la...
متن کاملMars ionospheric response to solar wind variability
[1] At planets with induced magnetospheres, the coupling between the ionosphere, the weak draped magnetosphere, and the solar wind is very direct in comparison to Earth. The weak induced magnetosphere itself is created by the prevailing Solar wind conditions and therefore in its shape and strength dynamically depending on it. In early 2010, Mars was located behind Earth in the Solar wind; thus,...

[1] We investigate the extreme ionospheric effect during the intense solar flare (X17.0/3B) that occurred on 7 September 2005. A strong E region electron density enhancement is observed by the incoherent scatter radars at Millstone Hill, Sondrestrom, and Tromsø, as well as by the radio occultation experiment on board the CHAMP satellite. The observations from both Millstone Hill and Sondrestrom...

In the summer of 2001, an intense thunderstorm in southeastern Caspian Sea triggered a catastrophic flood in the Madarsoo basin . Use of methods including high-resolution aerial photographs and satellite images interpretation, multi-date mapping, hydraulic calculations and field observations made possible the documentation of the geomorphic impacts on the Madarsoo River and its tributaries. Geo...
